Mini Album Mania

I am totally obsessed with scrapbook mini albums.  Seriously, I can't get enough.  Most of the time, I don't even care about finishing them with my pictures and sentiments.  I just care about creating them.  I'm really considering selling them in my etsy store.  I love that each one is different and has its very own personality.  It's amazing how they turn out so differently from what I have in my head--and it's usually better than I even imagined.  I have one book that I planned to make for Miss C, but half way through, I realized that it's destined for my friend's baby boy.  Now, to just finish it in time for his birthday!

Speaking of mini albums, I caught a glimpse of this tutorial by Teresa Collins on MyCraftChannel.com.  Her designs are fabulous and this one shows a great way to make a unique album and still conserve your paper!  Check it out!

Oh Scrap!

I am craft obsessed. And it doesn't really matter what kind of craft it is. I love making jewelry and need to get my pieces posted to etsy SOON. But lately, my love has been scrapbooking. Not the big scrapbooks that many people automatically think about, but mini albums.

And I just LOVE mini albums! It gets me out of my scrapbooking rut and I like the idea of having a finished product instead of a scrapbook that just goes on and on. I think I got that feeling when I finished 5, yes I said 5, 3-inch 3 ring binders for my Granddad that contained a scrapbook of his entire life from 1931-2007. It was a great project, the most rewarding I've ever done, and everyone has gotten so much joy out of looking at them. But so many layouts put me in a rut.

I haven't given up standard layouts all together, though. I have great page kits that I use for special occasions and my favorite photos and memories. You can find my favorites at scrappindaisydesigns.com and outonalimbscrapbooking.com. You will love what you find at both sites!

Speaking of Scrappin' Daisy--I will soon be taking my SECOND scrap-cation at their retreat in May. It is a great opportunity for some "me" time, fellowship with a fun and creative group of women...and more "me" time. As a matter of fact, it's a great vacation for all of us. The hubby gets a few days to spend all the time he wants in "daddy's room" (that's what my 3 year old calls the garage) and baby girl gets spoiled by her grandparents and the rest of the family. I will be spending the next week making lists (one of my other favorite activities) and getting all of us packed.

In the midst of all of that, I'm mailing out catalogs and preparing for my Thirty-One summer product premier party. There are SO MANY cute things coming out that I can't wait to get my hands on. And, of course, these are my favorite things for organizing all of my craft supplies...IKEA is a very close second!

There are so many exciting things coming up! I just can't wait to share all of my adventures in crafting with you!

Thirty-One Days of Christmas

Merry Christmas, everyone!  We have already been celebrating for at least a week and still more to come.  My thirty-one days of Christmas started with a VERY nice surprise from Thirty-One when I earned my StartSwell kit FOR FREE!  Yay!  I never dreamed that I would be able to start my new business off with such a bang!  Thank you to all of my customers for supporting me in my new adventure.  Here's a little taste of what arrived at my doorstep in the big pink box:

The Weekender is a DREAM!  Big hugs to all of you that have supported me!

Enough about me...I have been planning this blog for a couple of weeks already.  Pictures taken and everything, just waiting for time to sit down and write.  Then, just a couple of days ago, Thirty-One released the list of patterns and products that will be discontinued for the next catalog.  (You can contact me by email   for more information on other products and patterns that are being discontinued.)  And one of my favorite products is on there!  I have to admit that this product was quite a ways down on my wishlist...behind several purses.  I was looking for a way to store my copious amounts of scrapbooking paper when a friend suggested this product.  Drum roll, please...it's the Collapsible Cube!  Now, this is one of my favorite products ever...especially for crafters and teachers and anyone else who might need to store something in a very stylish bin.  It is perfect for scrapbooking paper, yarn, files and practically anything else you can think of.  I filled 3...yes, I said 3...cubes with paper.  One cube held 18 whole and partial pads of 12x12 paper and didn't even blink when I picked it up to move it.  The bottom of my craft armoire held all 3 cubes comfortably.  So, now I have to decide how many more to buy before they are gone for good.  I'm thinking 3...or 13.  Well, I still have a few days to think about it, right?

I can't wait to show you guys my craft room once it is finally finished.  I am so close!  You will be amazed!

There is just one more product that I have to tell you about.  I am totally obsessed with the Organizing Utility Tote!  I have one for just about everything...one for my car at work, one for my Thirty-One parties to keep my catalogs and order forms organized, one for my scrapbooking supplies when I take them to classes or crops, one for my jewelry making supplies and orders...and the list goes on.  The OUT is the handiest bag!  A couple of weekends ago, we went to see ICE at the Gaylord Texan and I packed all of our scarves, hats and gloves in one.  My sister-in-law even uses one for her diaper bag.  It is adorable!

This is my JaiBird Jewels bag that I use for hauling my jewelry supplies around and keeping track of my orders.  You can see my jewelry here.

I love all of the pockets on this thing--7 in all!  And the mesh pockets on the side are an awesome addition.  Thirty-One thinks of everything!

The outside pockets are perfect for office supplies, snacks and small items.  I can't wait to see the new spring patterns in this tote.  I'm sure I'll be adding a couple more to my collection!

I know that you will love these products as much as I do.  You can find them here.

I hope that you all have a Christmas that is Merry and Bright!  I already have my next post planned and you guys are going to LOVE it.  Since I told you that this blog will cover a lot of my favorite topics, the next one will be crafty!  And it is something easy to do, customizable and affordable.  I made them as Christmas gifts this year and they were a hit!  And all the ladies at my last scrap retreat just swooned over them.  You won't want to miss this!

Thirty-One Uses: Gifting and Purses

I am a little ashamed.  I was so excited about the arrival of my Thirty-One box that I totally forgot that the FedEx guy would also be delivering my new iPad.  Totally.  Forgot.  But it was just one more thing to be excited about!  I have already started using all of my products...except, of course, the ones that I have been giving away FOR FREE to members of my Facebook group.  You can join here.  I wanted to take a minute to post pictures of my loot and show you some of the things I have done with them.

First, is the Littles Carry All.  This one is in the Black Tailored Stripe.  I am using it as a gift bag for a birthday gift.  Isn't it adorable?  The BEST part is that these totes were the customer special for November and they only cost me $1!  That is even less than what a gift sack would cost and the recipient will still have a great gift to keep once all of the lotions are long gone.

The next things I bought were for me.  I just couldn't help it.  I have been drooling over these two things for months...even before I started selling.  First, I got the Cindy Tote (which I bought in the dark denim for the ability to dress it up or down.)  I totally plan on using it as a purse, but it is classified as a tote for this reason...you can fit a purse IN IT!  Holy cow!  This will be my favorite traveling bag.  I can already tell!  Then, I get my personal item and my purse in one bag and can still take my carry on!  I love that this purse is so roomy, especially since I am usually carrying around things for my toddler and husband.  It also has little metal feet on the bottom to help it stand up beautifully and make sure that you don't have to set your gorgeous bag down right on a dirty floor.  Thirty-One thinks of everything!

The other item is the 5 pocket clutch that I ordered in Black Parisian Pop!  It is gorgeous and holds so much!  Plus, you can order a wrist strap for it and make a quick run to the grocery store without having to take your entire bag.  There is plenty of room in it for money, debit and credit cards, store loyalty cards and all of your other essentials.  My keys, business cards and other things fit quite nicely.

I am making quite a collection out of my next purchase.  I LOVE the Retro Metro bags!  So much, that I ordered one in the Painted Floral Plaid and a mini in the dark denim personalized for my daughter and added the Medium Rosette for a little extra pop.  Little Mommy and Me purses!  I know she's going to love it!  These bags will hold everything and are perfect as purses or for a playdate or run to the gym.

I still have a couple more items to show you, so keep a look out for the great organizing tools I bought.  You will be amazed!

Thirty-One Organizing Utility Tote

I am dying to post pictures of all of my great Thirty-One purchases as soon as my giant pink box arrives.  But I found this picture from ABowlFullofLemons.blogspot.com and couldn't help but post it!  What a great use of the Organizing Utility Tote as a mobile office!  Mine is my craft bag right now and my sister-in-law has one she uses as her diaper bag.  I know I will be buying them up like crazy for all of their great uses!
